Hammel Portugieser Tonneau 2019

Hammel Portugieser Tonneau 2019 is an exciting red wine from the Palatinate. The old grape variety Blauer Portugieser may seem outdated today, but it is one of the mothers of Palatinate wine-growing. Hammel's Vingård, founded in 1723, produced their red wines exclusively from the Blauer Portugieser grape variety until 1950. The wine here is therefore a tribute to the past. The grapes come from 40-50 year old vines that have received extra careful care and attention. The wine is matured for 2 years in large wooden barrels; A highly successful Portugieser that is fantastic with steaks, game, classic ham and sausage specialities, aromatic cheeses, a good piece of bread with fresh butter or a round of hearty vegetarian food.
