OREGON BIG REDS
Once again, winemaker Ron Sanchez has done his magic and we love this wine! When it got into the glass, a crazy good smell spread. Home to some of the earliest plantings of big red varietals in Oregon, the Columbia Gorge AVA is home to vineyards that produce distinctly bright, fruity, yet elegant and sophisticated wines. The 2011 Columbia Gorge Blended Red is the perfect introduction to Oregon's distinctive style of big red wines.
The wine presents a harmonious and complex flavor profile. The wine has deep notes of dark berries such as blackcurrant, blackberry and cherry, combined with hints of spices, chocolate and vanilla. There are also subtle earthy and leathery undertones which add depth and complexity. The tannins are well integrated and give a soft but structured finish.
